Life sciences research at Cornell means more than just groundbreaking discovery…it also means business!

Biotechnology is big business in New York State. According to the New York Biotechnology Association, New York is home to 89 biotechnology companies and more than 260 companies with activities in the life sciences.

These biotech companies have a wide range of specialties, including therapeutic drug development, diagnostics, and bioinformatics. In 2000, they had combined revenues of more than $1.2 billion and employed more than 5,400 people.

The biotech and life sciences market continues to grow rapidly. And, life sciences research and scholarship at Cornell can fuel this biotech growth.
