The genomics revolution has tremendous implications and opportunities
for the business community, at all levels. Although a Business Innovations
focus area has not yet been formally constituted, faculty from the
Johnson Graduate School of Management, the Department of Applied
Economics and Management, and the Cornell Biotechnology Center have
begun planning. Possible activities include, but are not limited
to: business education and training for scientists, covering topics
such as capital markets, venture capital, and entrepreneurship;
genomics and life sciences educational opportunities for business
executives and others; research and outreach exploring the business,
economic, and societal impacts of genomics research, including the
development, marketing, and distribution of "e-Learning"
and other continuing education materials.
